Jaguar C-XF

The new Jaguar C-XF concept car has been hailed the star of the Detroit Motor Show

There is no doubt that the Jaguar C-XF show car is hugely significant to the brand, previewing not only the S-Type saloon replacement, but also the contemporary new design direction for the company as a whole. However, as eye-catching as the exterior is, the car's most advanced technology is contained in the futuristic interior.

The basic shape of the C-XF's cabin is likely to be retained in the XF production model, but there are several carefully integrated features that will not grace the showroom model just yet. One such innovation is called "JaguarSense" and is still at prototype stage. This technology employs motion sensors to activate certain vehicle controls without the driver/passenger actually touching anything; so for instance, the sweep of a hand in a certain place could raise the temperature of the climate control. It is said to be quite intuitive.

Jaguar's interior designers have also used ambient lighting extensively, to enhance the driving experience. This ranges from a 'pulsing' Power button to the dramatic illumination of the cockpit and even the radiator grille once the car is started up.
